Finalement, Sam Mendes réalisera bien le 24eme James Bond !

Pile poil après l'excellent Skyfall, le Sam avait salement hésité à revenir derrière la caméra pour une nouvelle aventure du célèbre agent 007, alors qu'il avait pourtant affirmer avoir pris un putain de plaisir à en tourner un - plaisir partager par les spectateurs du monde entier vu ses recettes faramineuses et ses critiques très élogieuses lors de sa sortie.

Un temps en négociation, il avait refusé l'offre de la MGM pour mieux se focaliser sur ses projets au théâtre, les adaptations du Roi Lear et de Charlie et la Chocolaterie.
Soit, par chez nous on avait commencer à faire notre deuil, grâce à une jolie liste de réalisateurs qui composait la wish-list de la production : Ang Lee, Shane Black, Tom Hooper, Nicolas Winding Refn et David Yates.

Du gros morceau, même si la MGM, tout comme les cinéphiles purs et durs, ne perdaient pas l'idée de revoir le Sam de retour après ses projets scéniques, surtout que le bonhomme n'avait pas franchement lâcher James Bond pour autant, lui même étant encore impliqué dans la prod de Bond 24.
Mais à force d'être draguer par une séduisante proposition, à un moment ou à un autre - nous ne sommes que des hommes hein - on finit par craquer, et c'est ce qui est officiellement arriver aujourd'hui au Sam, qui a bel et bien signé pour cornaquer la 24eme aventure cinématographique de Bond.

Pour l'occasion, le bonhomme aura tout de même signé un contrat en or, lui permettant de commencer le tournage courant 2014 pour une sortie à l'automne 2015, mais surtout de voir par la même occasion son cachet doublé, tout autant que son pourcentage sur les recettes.

Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, EON Productions; Gary Barber, Chairman & CEO, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer; Michael Lynton, CEO, Sony Entertainment, Inc, and Amy Pascal, Co-Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that Daniel Craig will once again return as the legendary British secret agent in the 24th James Bond film and Sam Mendes will also return to direct the screenplay written by John Logan.  The film is set for release in UK theaters on October 23, 2015 and in US theaters on November 6, 2015.
Skyfall™, the 23rd James Bond film, took in $1.1 billion worldwide and set a new mark as the highest-grossing film of all time in the UK; it was the best-selling Bond film on DVD/Blu-ray and was the most critically acclaimed film in the history of the longest-running film franchise.
